About Me
For as long as I can recall I have been surrounded by art, style, tea, and different cultures.
My first memories of being introduced to tea date back to when I was a little girl growing up in England. It was my grandmother, whom I was extremely close to, who would take me to have afternoon tea in traditional English tearooms or create the most decadent one to share with her at home. We would dress up in our hats and pearls to enjoy the most memorable quality time together, talking about traveling to far beyond places as well as the girly things in life. Those times are something that I reflect upon and hold dear to my heart to this day. Discretely, it was her way of teaching me etiquette and introducing me to her world, a world of art and theatre. But for me, in reflection, it was the beginning of my thirst for all things creative, artistic, and exciting.
Prior to formally starting this company and becoming a professional event planner specializing in high tea and tea parties, I had a wonderful career in the creative sector, but none more so than as an interior designer and stylist for more than 14 years. During that time, while running my own interior design business, I also created, taught, and conducted comprehensive interior design classes and styling workshops in Australia.
Often when researching histories of interior styles for design workshops, I would be drawn to the cultures of those countries. As such, I learned about various ancient beliefs as feng shui, that in Greece a child’s tooth is thrown onto the roof for good luck, and that the Japanese cultural activity of chanoyu (a Japanese tea ceremony) dates back more than 1,000 years. Thus, my passion for all things global evolved. I took that desire to the next level and added a travel agent’s accreditation to my resume.
FabulosiTea has evolved from my love of tea and entertaining into a creative career incorporating my passion for travel. Now, I am on a mission to design beautiful, fun, and imaginative tea parties for you. Whoever would have expected that those conversations with my grandmother over a cup of tea with scones, talking about far-off places, would lead me to have experienced grandeur, sophistication, style, fun, and sometimes frivolity in taking tea? It’s with gratitude that I have been able to experience high tea/low tea or a traditional tea ceremony in places such as Hong Kong, England, Morocco, and Australia. In fact, those memories and feelings are the backbones of influence in starting my business as an event planner specializing in high tea and tea parties.
Memories are something I would like to create for you either at your own personalized event or with me as I host overseas trips to wonderful destinations that enjoy the sophistication of afternoon or high/low tea.
